Bongiorno from Italy

One day we went for a walk along The Cinque Terre. It was beautiful.

We arrived in beautiful Italy last Saturday and are having an amazing time. At the moment we are in Lucca which is very beautiful . The old city still has a wall built around it that was built in the 12 th century.

Why do you think they built walls around cities ?

I can’t wait to show you some pictures! At the moment my iPad wont let me add them to our blog but I am working on fixing this.

We also visited this funny tower that was made a very , very long time ago. It leans !

What do you think this tower is called?

I found this tower leaning over in Pisa, do you know why ?

Hola from Barcelona

Hola is Spanish for hello. We arrived in Barcelona, the second biggest city in Spain, the other

day.  The first day was very wet and it reminded me of a rhyme my mother would say to me

– “the rain in Spain falls mainly on the plain”. Lucky  for us  the sun has come out. Barcelona is a very interesting  place  filled with  very unusual buildings.  Antonio Gaudi, a very famous artist and architect designed and built many  beautiful buildings in an Art Deco style.

The most famous building in Spain is a cathedral  that Gaudi started building in  1882 and

it is still not finished ! Here is a picture of the inside. I hope you can see the pics I have put up

, I have been having a bit of a problem attaching pictures but I have lot to show you when I

get home.

Adios

Bonjour from Paris

Hello to everyone from Paris France .Paris is a beautiful city with lots of history and beautiful art works. I am having a lovely time even though it is little bit chilly. Life here is very different to Melbourne, the cars drive on the other side of the road, there are lots of motorbikes and there does not seem to be too many road rules- you have to be very careful crossing the road. I visited this very famous monument today. It is called The Arc de Triomphe and it was built in 1836. Napoleon was the Emperor and had it built to celebrate his victory in battles.

Did you know there is another Paris ,not in France?
Who can tell me where there is another Paris?

We have spent a lot of time walking in Paris and to get to places you need to cross lots of bridges. The river that runs through Paris is called the Seine. The buildings are quite different to those in Blackburn, some even look like castles!
what is different in the shape of the building?

We went to a beautiful church today St Chapelle which was built in the 12th century. It has these amazing stained glass windows. The windows tell the stories from the Bible. They used them for people who could not read. The first window tells the creation story.
Today is our last day in Paris, we are off to Spain today. Hope you are having a lovely time with Mrs Killkenny.
Au revoir
